It’s wonderful to see the deliberate use of sound, and it’s lack, in tense situations. Although the film has aged it is still rather enjoyable. 8/10.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 22 years (half my life, at this stage) since this film changed the game for spy action films. While state-of-the-art at the time, some of the effects have dated, and some elements are now cliche (the mask removal is almost groan-worthy and over acted). The theme still gives me a thrill, and with this first instalment there’s a reason we have five more films to watch. 8/10.
