The Insult

Film #4 of the ‘we forgot to go to the cinema’ movie weekend. We were going to watch McQueen and found out we were too late … we didn’t want that to happen for the other movies on our list.

Emmy says:
An intriguing look at life lived in a feeling of war. 9/10.

Jeff says:
The Insult wasn’t a film who’s trailer grabbed me. I had just seen Beirut, and I wasn’t sure what could be added to the story of Lebanon. I was very wrong. This is a contemporary piece about how old wounds, unaddressed, fester. I struggled at first to empathise with two hard heads who refused to back down. By the end, I felt I understood both men and why they reacted the way they did. A compelling look at a situation I am clearly under-informed about. 9/10.
