Mary Shelley

Emmy says:
A frivolous journey through a volatile life with stunning costumes and florid verbiage. Entertaining and enjoyable, if not accurate to the historical timeline. 8/10.

Jeff says:
Beautifully set, costumed, and shot, this film is sadly too enamoured of itself. While the highlights of Mary Shelley’s late teens are all there, they are out of sequence and re-purposed for the poetry of the story. While creative licence is to be expected, some of the changes don’t add to the story and therefore make little sense in having been made. There are also some key details mentioned but not explored. Mary Shelley deserves better than this shallow dalliance. 6/10.
