The high intensity pre-credit sequence pulled no punches and set the tone for the rest of the movie. I was pulled along through each of the rooms and was invested in the solutions. Thoroughly enjoyable. 9/10.

Although visually excellent, this film is unfortunately derivative and predictable. The film thinks it’s cleverer than it really is, and didn’t know how to end (honestly, there were at least three places the film could have ended! The first one would have been the best choice.) The ending is obviously a set up for a ‘bigger world’ in the inevitable sequel, but I would rather have made that the start of the sequel instead of polluting what would have felt like a tighter picture without it. Some interesting ideas, one REALLY good sequence, and the rest was … fine. 7/10.
