Emmy says: Old characters in new skins works really well here. A fantastic installment for a story that was already completed, with great commentary on the slow but significant change in society. 9/10
Jeff says: An excellent blend of nostalgia and newness. There were enough callbacks and references for the die-hard fans but without it feeling like just fan service. The use of earlier film material made sense in context. It just goes to show how well The Matrix stands up over 20 years later, that reusing the same imagery fits right in to this newer picture – but that doesn’t mean there weren’t cool new things to look at. There most definitely was. Of course, the real heart of The Matrix films, for me, is the philosophy being explored and I was not disappointed. 10/10.
